Kelaiwood Floors: Treffert UV Lacquer for Real Protection and Natural Beauty

At Kelaiwood, we’ve worked with wood for years, and we’ve learned one thing — good flooring doesn’t just happen. It takes the right material, the right process, and the right finish. That’s why we use Treffert UV lacquer on every plank. It’s a German-made coating we’ve trusted for a long time because it gives our floors real strength and lasting protection.
We like Treffert not just for how it looks, but for how it performs. It keeps the wood safe from daily wear, it’s low in VOCs so it’s good for indoor use, and it helps the color stay stable over time. More importantly, it lets the wood stay true — natural in texture, smooth to touch, and easy to maintain.

Our Coating Process
Each Kelaiwood floor goes through a detailed coating process — seven base layers and two top coats. Every layer serves a purpose.
We start by leveling the surface, then apply multiple base coats for color and adhesion. After that, two Treffert UV top coats give the final finish — tough, glossy, and water-resistant.
1. Contact Calibration– Levels the surface for smoothness.
2. Base Coat 1 (Color Primer) – Improves adhesion.
3.Base Coat 2 (Color Primer) – Sets the base color.
4. Three-Roller Coloring – Adds color depth and richness.
5. Base Coat 3 (Leveling Primer) – Ensures even thickness.
6. Base Coat 4 (Color Primer) – Increases wear resistance.
7. Base Coat 5 (Color Primer) – Strengthens the surface.
8. Base Coat 6 & 7 (Color Primer) – Finalizes color and smoothness.
9. Top Coats 1 & 2 (Treffert UV Lacquer) – Provide gloss, water resistance, and final protection.
It’s not the fastest way, but it’s the way to make floors that last.

How to Keep Your Floor Looking Its Best
Even the strongest coating needs care. Here are a few things we often remind our customers:
* Avoid dragging heavy furniture; lift it if possible.
* Try not to wear hard-soled or high-heeled shoes indoors — slippers are better.
* Keep sharp tools and metal objects away from the floor surface.
* If something falls and leaves a mark, small scratches can often be polished out with wax.
Wood floors have their own life. They’re warm, quiet, and natural — but they do appreciate a bit of care.
We supply our flooring to many markets — from Europe to Asia and North America. No matter where it goes, the goal is the same: give our partners a product that’s reliable, consistent, and easy to sell.
