Kelaiwood Team Activity — Dumpling Making During the Minor Snow Season

Kelaiwood Team Activity — Dumpling Making During the Minor Snow Season-kelaiwood

As the Minor Snow solar term arrived this year, the weather suddenly felt noticeably colder. It seemed like a good time for the team at Kelaiwood to do something a bit warmer and more relaxed, so we arranged a small dumpling-making activity. The idea wasn’t complicated—just to let everyone take a break, get together for a while, and enjoy something connected to the season.

We started the activity late in the morning. By that time, most of the ingredients were already prepared: wrappers stacked on plates, several kinds of fillings in bowls, and a few tools that people brought from home because they preferred using their own. It created a rather homely atmosphere, not entirely planned but actually quite fitting for the activity.

As everyone began wrapping the dumplings, the room became lively in an unintentional way. Some colleagues focused on making theirs neat and even, while others simply tried to make sure the filling didn’t fall out—which actually led to a few laughs. There were also a few moments where people exchanged tips, though some of the advice was clearly more confident than practical. Still, that’s part of the fun of these things.

When the dumplings were finally cooked, the smell filled the whole room. People gathered naturally, without needing much direction. The fennel pork dumplings disappeared the fastest. The cabbage pork ones followed, and the vegetarian ones were taken mostly out of curiosity at first, though they turned out better than many expected.

It was a simple activity, nothing too formal, but it brought everyone into the same space for a moment in an otherwise busy week. And with the colder weather that Minor Snow brings, the warm food and small conversations made the morning feel a bit more comfortable than usual. It wasn’t a big event, but it added a nice touch to the start of winter for our team.
